I know that at this time of year, many florists feel dread at the tedium of making wreaths for weeks and weeks. I can completely sympathise with this emotion – mossing 50 or so rings a week is hardly creative – however, when at the end of the day, you end up with a room overflowing with beauty, I suddenly remember what I’m doing this all for. I am designing natural expressions, not only of Christmas, but of welcome and generosity. I am decking the halls. This re-stokes all my diminished energies, and I am able to un-crick my back and drive right back in the next day. I really love this about wreaths.
